CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY
A very successful Christmas party was held in December. A big thanks to all who helped organise this event, especially Santa who arrive on his Harley Davidson motor bike. The children will remember this one for a long time to come.

AGM
It was a disappointing turn out for the AGM. Remember it is your club and we need your input to be able to run it.

PRIZE GIVING

A really good night was had by all at the joint prize giving, Blackness and Upper Forth clubs. A lovely supper was provided by Alex and a good selection of music was supplied by Bob Simpson.

CRANING OUT

Sadly the boats were craned out on 16th October marking the end of another season. The craning out went very smoothly with everyone 'mucking in' whether they were taking their boat out or not. Most masts were lowered on the day taking advantage of the good weather and there was a warm 'club' feeling.

OPEN DAY

The Open Day was held on 16 July and a great time was had by all. Miraculously the thunder and lightning was all around us but missed Blackness until after 5 o'clock. This allowed for stalls, sandcastle competitions, punt race and boat trips all to take place while being expertly entertained by Queensferry Community Band led by Mr John Gilmour.
A surprise visit by the Bo'ness Fire Brigade was appreciated by all of our visitors. Queensferry Rowing Club rowed into Blackness Bay in with their community built boat, quite a sight. Their rowing instructions was appreciated by many. Queensferry RNLI checked lifejackets and Grangemouth RNLI had a stall selling their merchandise. Delicious milk shakes were provided as usual by Linda and the bouncy castle proved very popular with the younger members of the community. First Responders were also in attendance and proved very popular.

Many thanks to all who took part, especially to June and Jennifer who put in so much effort in organising a brilliant day. Last but certainly not least a big mention to Derek who was a star on the burger bar and members of the Community Councilwho helped out in various roles.

RACE RESULTS

Only 2 boats took part in the race for the Pier Trophy. First place was taken by Kilmaha (Alan, Murray and Yvonne Bruce) and second place was Moonraker (Jim Bruce and George Callaghan). Moonraker was first across the finish line by 11 seconds, the result is 14 seconds in Kilmaha's favour after the handicap was applied.
The next race is the ladie's race on 21st June at 7o'clock.

Ladies Race was postponed until 21st July due to bad weather. Only 2 boats entered and 1 retired.

Blackness Regatta had to be abandoned at the second marker due to lack to wind. (but the sunbathing was really good).

The Stern Chase was won by Moonraker with second place taken by Kilmaha.
